In case you didn't notice we changed our domain to KickStartz.org. We did this to better reflect our position in the community as a non profit. If you can't break the habit of going to kickstartz.com, it will redirect automatically. Emails to me should now go to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Startup Nashville coming August 15! PDF Print E-mail
Join us Saturday evening, August 15th, 6:30-9:00PM for the Opening Night Kickoff Event for StartUp Nashville to be continued on Sunday (you will need to sign up for both events separately since they span calendar days). These dates were chosen because they are immediately after DevLink www.devlink.net, which made the Microsoft resources available to us. On Saturday evening, the event will include introductions, overview of the process for the 1+ days, overview of the Microsoft programs to help you realize your technology dreams as a business, and initial brainstorming of ideas. Even if you only attend the first Saturday evening session, you will come away with a better idea both of the resources available to you, and of how to start choosing and refining your idea for “the Next Big Thing”. Ever wondered about starting your own business? Had that great idea you think could be the Next Big Thing? The good news is there may have never been a better time since the early days of the Internet to start your own technology-based business!!! Commit one evening and 1 day to brainstorming/growing your awareness of the opportunities. Businesses have been launched in that amount of time! Hear about the HUGE upcoming wave of Microsoft technologies that will be launching during the next 9 months. Brainstorm business ideas, and participate in Open Spaces about either your idea or an idea put forth by another attendee. Hear about the tools Microsoft provides to help you start your own thing--DreamSpark for students, BizSpark for entrepreneurs, and the Partner Network including ISV (Independent Software Vendors) for businesses already underway. On Sunday, more submission/initial brainstorming of ideas, then an overview of the new technologies coming out around which you could build your business, Open Space sessions to build out a few of the ideas that members of the group decide are of interest to them, interspersed by short talks by former entrepreneurs and other professionals around starting and building a business. Even if you only attend the Sunday morning session, you will get info on the new Microsoft technologies that will be out within the year, some of the features that make them compelling and the business opportunity they present, plus more on choosing and refining your idea. But for the most fun, come join us for the entire event, a day+ of exploring how to turn your dreams to reality using Microsoft technology!
